NS-3 EmuNetDevice evolution to support binding to PPP interfaces

چکیده
Network Simulator 3 (NS-3) enables the interaction of simulated network nodes with real ones through the use of special emulated network devices (EmuNetDevices) and real time execution. A virtual node can use an EmuNetDevice to bind its network device to a real network device of the computer hosting the simulation; however, the real network device must operate at MAC layer and be persistent. This paper presents an evolution of the ns-3 EmuNetDevice module enabling the support for binding simulated nodes to PPP network interfaces, which operate at IP layer and only exist when the connection is active, e.g. 3G client network interfaces. This EmuNetDevice evolution is expected to implement the new features without introducing a significant network delay. Simulation results are presented, validating the new module correct operation, and is shown that the introduced delay is negligible and can be despised, taking into account the high delays that usually characterize the 3G operator networks.

(+)3H-3-PPP [(+)3H-3-(3-Hydroxyphenyl)-N-(1-propyl)-piperidine] binds with high affinity to brain membranes with a pharmacological profile consistent with that of sigma receptors. The distribution of (+)3H-3-PPP binding sites in brain and spinal cord of both guinea pig and rat has been determined by in vitro autoradiography with binding densities quantitated by computer-assisted densitometry. متن کاملImproving ns-3 emulation support in real-world networking scenarios
A common problem in networking research and development is the duplicate effort of writing simulation and implementation code. This duplication can be avoided through the use of fast-prototyping methodologies, which enable reusing simulation code in real prototyping and in production environments. Although this functionality is already available by using ns-3 emulation, there are still limitati...
متن کاملIrradiation Induced Microstructure Evolution in Nanostructured Materials: A Review
Nanostructured (NS) materials may have different irradiation resistance from their coarse-grained (CG) counterparts. In this review, we focus on the effect of grain boundaries (GBs)/interfaces on irradiation induced microstructure evolution and the irradiation tolerance of NS materials under irradiation. The features of void denuded zones (VDZs) and the unusual behavior of void formation near G...

In order to satisfy the requirement of high-rate high-precision applications, 1 Hz BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) satellite clock corrections are generated based on precise orbit products, and the quality of the generated clock products is assessed by comparing with those from the other analysis centers. The comparisons show that the root mean square (RMS) of clock errors of geostatio...
متن کاملEvaluating the Implementation and Feasibility of a Web-Based Tool to Support Timely Identification and Care for the Frail Population in Primary Healthcare Settings
Background Understanding and addressing the needs of frail persons is an emerging health priority for Nova Scotia and internationally. Primary healthcare (PHC) providers regularly encounter frail persons in their daily clinical work. However, routine identification and measurement of frailty is not standard practice and, in general, there is a lack of awareness about how to identify and respond...
